Let’s talk packing!
Let’s talk packing!
Are you someone who packs weeks ahead or the night before? Or somewhere in between?
Top of the List - & in your hand!
***Passport,
Vaccination card,
Covid test results
Health declaration as needed for Country or Travel Company.
I am a last minute packer, however I will start setting things aside leading up to the trip and standard things are always ready to go. Clothing, start ahead moving possible travel clothes to a separate area. Glancing at them you’ll be able to see colors you want, things you want to add. Picking a color group is easier for mix & match choices. A couple scarves for the ladies can change a plain t-shirt into a different look. Hat…..while you may not wear hats at home traveling I find them necessary and it has gotten me used to wearing them at home more.
Add any apps that pertain to your trip, information will be at your fingertips. Airlines, Travel Insurance App-(many have emergency local numbers), Country specific apps, travel company app. Spend time on flights getting familiar with them so you know where to find things.
Electrical adapter & multi US plug to be able to charge devices
Chargers for all electronic equipment (expensive & hard to find while on vacation)
Printed copy of documents……just in case & leave a copy with someone at home
Hand sanitizer, wipes have always been on my list but even more so now.
Masks — some airlines are requiring N95 or KN95 easier to just have those ready.
ID—-we all know you aren’t going anywhere without ID, make sure all documents are correct at purchase! Between computers & multiple people handling the “paperwork” errors can happen check them each time new ones are issued.
Medications- ALWAYS- pack extra delays happen! In some Countries medication is required to be in pharmacy labeled container. Do not put it in checked luggage -Keep it in your carryon!
Rain jacket, sweater - even during warm weather for cool evenings.
Carry snacks, food choices are limited, delays are unavoidable.
Ziploc bags in assorted sizes for bottles, organizing, wet items.
Sunscreen, bug spray depending on trip
Layered options will work for most all trips.
Comfortable shoes & extra pair for switching off
Add something nicer for dinners depending on the trip. *knits, jersey fabrics won’t wrinkle
Jewelry - personal choice, but I don’t take sentimental or expensive pieces.
Hats
Binoculars
Blow dryer, hair needs (check if any supplied & you'll save space)
Keep it simple, if laundry service is available take advantage of it so you can travel lighter and go home with clean clothes.
