Copenhagen, (København) Denmark 🇩🇰

Copenhagen, or København as locals call it in Denmark is known to be one of the happiest places. We had a few days in Copenhagen and I had been there previously. There is plenty to see and do, well worth a second visit or a longer visit. We took one day to just enjoy the city, and then took an extensive tour of the major highlights another day. Wandering through the city look for a local restaurant to have lunch or drink, listen to the accents, languages, watch the people go by, walk through their stores, purchase something even small, always interesting to see how things are in other places that are different from our own experiences.

You must try the Danish Smørrebrød sandwiches and possibly for dinner one of the the city’s Michelin star restaurants. They have a wonderful mix of dining options, lovely outdoor seating areas and at each place we ended up chatting with locals sitting nearby. Copenhagen is the home of Carlsberg Beer, a fun part of traveling is having some of the local foods & drinks. Even if you’ve tasted it before, you want to have one while your where it comes from.

Close by the cruise port we docked at was the Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale.
